Aeronaut Biscuit keeps up that in a younger life he trotted between airmail counters, learning his letters from the stamps and picking up a taste for postmarks and cold platforms. His coat argues otherwise, and sweetly: a soft dense ivory shag, faintly toasted at the crown and along the arms where hands lingered, with floppy limbs that fold obligingly into a lap. His stitched nose is a smooth oval, his intelligent, amber eyes level and kind. Round his neck, a crimson-and-white striped knit scarf embroidered A87, fringed at the tips. His Aéropostale seam label reads clear. Washed and combed by hand, seams sound.
