Curly, a rescued teddy bear

Hazelnook

His current Build-A-Bear labels and boucle curl mark him as a bear of the 2010s or later, though he's clearly logged plenty of hours in someone's arms.

Hazelnook's story

Hazelnook swears he came down out of a hazel thicket the autumn the nuts fell early, tumbling free of a squirrel's forgotten hoard and rolling all the way to a garden gate. Whatever the truth, Hazelnook is everything a bear should be including the perfect size for carrying around on adventures or hugging to sleep. His stitched brown nose and dark eyes are intact and bright, and the B-A-B pawpad patch and Build-A-Bear seam label survive, crisp and legible. A gentle wash and a careful comb-out have coaxed the curl back into his coat.
