Umber's story
Umber makes an impression with his muzzle, which isn't plush at all but a rough boucle knit — a nubbly, salt-and-pepper weave that reads almost tweed against his smooth dark cocoa coat. Someone chose him for that face, I suspect. His paw pads and foot pads are quilted champagne satin, glossy and unsplit, and his stitched black nose sits square and glossy above that knitted snout. The Taiwan-registered tag survives at his back, ink faded but readable. Gently machine washed and hand combed, his fur settles into a deep, plush shine.
