Fathomly's story
Fathomly will tell you, with great authority, that she once won a staring contest with a lighthouse and simply never stopped drifting inland afterward. She is a plush humpback whale from Wild Republic, grey above and ribbed cream-corduroy below, with a small green fabric tag still bright at her flank and a hangtag thread trailing at one fin. Her long pectoral fins are edged in white and softened at the tips where they've been steered like handlebars. Two swirled callosity bumps sit stitched near her blowhole, and one clear eye holds the light dead center. Gently machine washed and combed, her nap lies smooth and deep-sea soft.
