Petitfour Blush arrived with a story she tells in powdered-sugar whispers: that she once perched atop a bakery's cooling rack, close enough to the rose-glazed cakes that their sugar steam settled into her fur for good. The evidence agrees — her white coat blooms into soft ballet-pink clouds across the brow, ears, chest, and paws, no two patches quite alike, as though she'd been dusted rather than dyed. A satin-pink nose sits stitched above a closed, contented mouth. She has spent a long while waiting for someone to notice she matches no other bear on the shelf, and would like, now, to be chosen for exactly that reason.
