Rhubarb Loom's story

Rhubarb Loom will tell you she was spun from the last light of an autumn orchard, dyed through by windfall fruit she sat among too long. The color is the whole of her โ€” a deep raspberry pink that runs lighter in soft bursts at both feet and the knee, as though sun worked loose what the dye held. Her long shaggy pile stands up thick across the back and curls at the tummy. A black velour nose sits round above a stitched smile, with glossy eyes set wide. Two woven tags remain tucked in her seam, naming cranberry as her shade. Washed and brushed out in sections while drying, every seam gone over.
