Domino's story
Domino keeps up a solemn story that he was raised on a working sheep farm, the runt whose coat came out backward — white where the collies wear black — and so he was retired to guard the doorstep instead of the flock. His markings do read like a border collie's, a bold black cape over white chest and paws, with a heart-shaped stitched nose set dead center. His fur is that wonderful two-length shag: long guard hairs standing wispy at the ears and shoulders over dense plush beneath. The felt paw soles show neat black claw-stitching, and the paw-print maker's tab sits crisp at one foot. Hand-washed and combed through, seams sound, still just as bright.
