Thaddeus's story
Thaddeus came to us the way the sturdiest things often do — tucked at the bottom of a box of linens, forgotten between someone's old quilts and a stack of photo albums nobody had opened in years. Lift him out and the fur along the back of his head still carries a faint part, pressed in from resting against something solid for a long stretch — a headboard, maybe, or a shoulder that stopped carrying him before he was ready to stop being carried. His stitching never gave, his nose never loosened, and his cream belly stayed bright the whole time he waited. He's ready to be reached for on purpose this time.
