Watermelon Pocket's story
Watermelon Pocket turned up still wearing the glossy clip-on charm shine of a mall craft counter, the kind where you pick a skin, stuff it yourself, and walk out with something that smells faintly of cotton and new plastic. His coat is a wild, marbled candy-pink — streaks of hot magenta, pale blush, and a few threads of apricot swirled together like someone tie-dyed him on purpose and nailed it the first try. His nose, ears, and paw pads are all the same flat bubblegum plush, unscuffed and bright. The Teddy Mountain tag sewn into his back seam is crisp and legible, no fading, no fraying thread. He isn't battered or patched — just unclaimed, the one left on the shelf after the birthday party packed up and went home. He'd like a shelf of his own now, not a leftover spot.
